The Association of Free Lutheran Congregations of India

AFLC-I is a Lutheran church body registered as a society in 1999, registration no. 114/99, headquartered at ILTD Colony, Kothapeta, Chirala, Andhra Pradesh.

Its president is Rev. Dasari Luther Sastry, trained at the Free Lutheran Seminary in Minneapolis. AFLC-I is an independent Indian body, in partnership with AFLC (USA), based in Plymouth, Minnesota, and AFLC Canada.

Every congregation today is on the coast of Andhra Pradesh, in and around Chirala — now in Bapatla district, formerly part of Prakasam district.

AFLC-I is registered as a national body and intends, in time, to extend beyond this coast. That intention is not yet a fact on the ground, and this site will say so plainly if and when it changes.

Adonai Homeopathy Clinic continues the work begun as Bethesda Free Lutheran Clinic, under Dr. Dasari Sheeba, with periodic medical camps reaching outlying villages including Bodapadu, Burlavaripalem, Elachetladibba and Anumarlapudi.

The Ambassador Institute has trained pastors and church workers in Telugu since 2009, using an oral curriculum — 25 graduates in its first class (January 2012), 50 in its second (2015). TODO(verify): current status of Ambassador Institute classes

St. Paul's Lutheran School served the community for years before closing. It's preserved here as heritage, not as an active ministry.
